Metadata represents an amount of information regarding another data. Metadata can tell a lot about the object it is attached to and it sometimes can provide more personal information than we would desire and could control to. Inside pictures, more than just a graphic representation is stored and distributed trough the internet.

Specific information such as title, keywords, author etc. is delivered anywhere along with the picture, hidden from sight, yet readable with specific tools. Information that help OSs to organise the fed data such as picture dimension, size color space etc. is also stored. But that is not that harmful if exposed. Information regarding your camera (or phone) is also stored. Your operating system, its version, your exact location when the picture was taken, number of persons present in the picture and even more is retained. Keep an eye on what you share along your pictures, with ImageTracer.

Our new app will be soon available on App Store. You will be able to view data from your pictures like camera type used to make the picture, location, date and time, operating system and many, many other information.
